Plywerk is a green company. We know that it’s pretty fashionable to be green right now, but it’s not something we do to fit in. We’re not green because we recycle. (Of course, we do.) But we like to think we’re going above and beyond. For us, it’s a way of life and it’s our way of doing business.
That’s why we say that we’re More Than Just Green at Plywerk. Every step of the way and every decision we make is based on a great sense of responsibility. We feel that it’s our job to treat the Earth, and the people on it with the utmost respect. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? We think so. But what does that really mean?
For one thing, Plywerk operates using a triple bottom line operating philosophy. We consider sustainability in every decision. Traditionally, the bottom line for a business refers to money or profit. Our triple bottom line means that we’re also factoring in social and environmental costs, as well as financial.
We care deeply about the environment, every step of the way. That’s why we use sustainable wood to make our wood panels. We’re proud to create products that are eco-conscious, but it doesn’t start and stop there. We pack our shipments in eco-friendly packing material from Geami. And every package we send via UPS is shipped carbon neutral through offsets. Learn more about the UPS Carbon Neutral program here.
But we’re not just a company. We’re people, too! And as people, we bike, we recycle, and treat each other well. It really is a matter of respect. As a business, Plywerk cares about its customers and its employees. That’s why we offer health care benefits to our employees after 32 hours a week. We’re also happy to offer paid sick leave. We want a workshop of happy, healthy Plywerkers.
When you buy a product from Plywerk, we want you to know that you can feel good about doing business with us.
